Equality

Equality

Fundamentally, irrespective of age, race, creed, gender, colour, size, religion, social position, political affiliation, physical or mental ability or disability, or sexual orientation, we are all equal. Each of us has a beating heart and the blood that runs through our veins is the same colour.

The unique characteristics of each individual are to be celebrated, honoured and valued. We all have different needs and requirements, different visions for our lives, and different goals and dreams. We are different by nature: Some of us are quiet, and others are the life and soul of the party. Some of us are deep, soulful, contemplative and reflective, whereas others are dynamic, outgoing, fun loving and the proverbial ‘ray of sunshine’. Many of us like to be in regular company while others need to spend a lot of time alone.

The palette of our humanness is rich in its diversity and without it the world would be a poorer place. Equality invites us to always meet life with an open and loving heart, and to view all of life on this beautiful Earth as equal.

To wholeheartedly honour, value, celebrate and uphold difference and to recognise ourselves, each other, and all of life, as being an equal part of the rich tapestry that is Life, is to co-create a lasting reality of peace, joy, beauty and harmony.
