Conscious Evolution

Conscious Evolution

In essence, the term ‘conscious evolution’ speaks to our capacity to evolve consciously, not merely by chance. Humanity is consciously evolving at a significant rate. Conscious connection, love and compassion are being woven into the very fabric of conscious innovation and co-creation. Advances in conscious technology are initiating and entraining with the viral awakening that is now occurring at both a personal and collective level.

It was the great futurist and pioneer of free energy, Nikola Tesla, who first introduced the idea of a ‘global brain’: When wireless is fully applied, the Earth will be converted into a huge brain capable of response in every one of its parts. It was also Tesla who first introduced the concept of the ‘noosphere’.

Humanity has evolved a highly sophisticated and upgraded technological ‘global nervous system and brain’ that is referred to across the world as The Internet. This online phenomenon virtually connects people, communities, countries, nations, and most of the world. This new techno-super brain both informs and in-forms, and has given the collective a voice and capacity for empowerment en-masse. This fact has not gone unnoticed by global authorities who recognise the effectiveness, and successes, of world-wide campaigns for human, animal, eco, and planetary rights.

The prolific visionary and futurist Barbara Marx Hubbard dedicated her life to the conscious evolution of humanity. The late American systems theorist, architect, engineer, author, designer, inventor, and futurist Buckminster Fuller once stated: “There is no doubt in my mind that Barbara Marx Hubbard—who helped introduce the concept of futurism to society—is the best informed human now alive regarding futurism and the foresights it has produced.”

Barbara Marx Hubbard defined conscious evolution as:

Conscious evolution is the evolution of evolution, from unconscious to conscious choice. While consciousness has been evolving for billions of years, conscious evolution is new. It is part of the trajectory of human evolution, the canvas of choice before us now as we recognise that we have come to possess the powers that we used to attribute to the gods.

The great task ahead of each one of us is to do everything in our power to bring an end to the destruction of the Natural World – of which we ourselves are part, and to instead co-create a new conscious future of infinite possibilities. We can co-evolve a positive future for future generations by applying vision and reason wisely and ethically for the survival and enhancement of life for all living beings and energies on this Earth.

Conscious evolution is the awakening of memory that resides in the synthesis of human knowing – from spiritual, to social, to scientific. All of our efforts to discover the inherent design of life can be seen as Higher Intelligence itself seeking to become known to Self and the World.

This awakening is gaining further momentum in the light of three new areas of understanding:

  1. Cosmogenesis: This is the recent discovery that the universe has been and is evolving.  Time is experienced as an evolutionary sequence of irreversible transformations, rather than as ever-renewing cycles. (Brian Swimme)
  2. Our New Crises: We are faced with a complex set of crises, most especially environmental. We are either consciously or unconsciously participating in a global system that perpetuates dysfunctional and destructive patterns. This kind of dramatic patterning takes us further down a devolutionary spiral when the world needs to take a dramatic upturn in terms of moving away from disorder and chaos and instead towards a consciously awakened evolutionary coherence and order. The outcome however, is entirely dependent upon our choices, and whether these are conscious. If we are to move beyond the overwhelming challenges we face as a planetary species in order to survive, and in to a consciously awakened epoch in which all living beings can thrive, then the personal and collective narrative has to holistically transform otherwise we will suffer the consequences. The crises we face as a world are evolutionary drivers pressuring us, like the enormous pressure that must be applied to coal to transform it into a diamond, to mindfully, consciously, peacefully and harmoniously innovate and evolve.
  3. Our New Capacities: The advent of radical evolutionary technologies such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, quantum computing, space exploration, etc., offer the potential for extraordinary life-affirming change in our physical world. Yet, at the same time, we face whole-scale destruction of our most instrumental life-support system – the eco-system itself. The tools are at hand to support and enable us to transform and move beyond the limited state and expression of what has been the overall human condition for millennia, toward a psycho-spiritually  and consciously awakened humanity that honours, respects, upholds and celebrates peace and harmony – the fundamental right of all living beings on Earth.
